Week 8 Comments and Feedback

1. Feedback in. Overall, how would you rate the quality of the comments and feedback you are receiving from other students in the class? What kinds of comments are you finding to be the most useful?

- The sort of comments I am finding most useful are those that point me in a specific direction and that give me critical feedback, rather than just saying good job.

2. Feedback out. Similarly, how would you rate the quality of the comments and feedback you are leaving for other students? Have you found some good strategies that help you give detailed feedback? Are you getting some good ideas for your own writing as you analyze other people's writing?

-I think I am leaving pretty good feedback, even though I could stand to be more specific. Being able to give other people feedback is contributing to my own growth as well because it helps to point out things I should be doing.

3. Blog comments. Do you have a sense of getting to know people by connecting with them at their blogs? Are you happy with how your Introduction post and how your blog in general provides a space where people can get to know you?

- Yes! I love connecting with people in this class on a different level. I feel like I am getting to know my peers even if I am not face to face with them. This creates a nice sense of community when we don't have a physical space to meet.

4. Looking forward. What do you want/need to do differently to make the feedback assignments more useful for others and/or more useful for you? Do you want to make any changes to your Comment Wall and/or your Introduction?

-I am not sure of any specific changes I need to be making, although I am always open for suggestions!

Introduction to a Women's Wrestling Coach and Future Teacher Hey everyone! My name is Mikayla Chandler. I am a secondary language arts education major going into my senior year here at OU. In addition to being a full-time student, I am also in my first year of coaching wrestling. Although I am a coach on a team of boys and girls, I primarily focus on my attention on the ladies on the team. Although I chose to not wrestling in college, I spent the majority of my life around wrestling and was competitive from ages 10 to 18. I was born and raised here in Norman, so it has always been a dream of mine to obtain a degree from OU. I have one dog but would certainly love to get more. Her name is Verona and she is a Lab/Pitbull mix that showed up one day and never left. Week Thirteen: Back up and Review

Thoughts: Some of my favorite videos on the internet are Crash Course videos. I LOVE these videos as a classroom tool. I really enjoy learning more about history through different avenues, and I really feel that Crash Course History has some of the most accessible lessons on the internet. I learned that basically anywhere there is a civilization, there is likely to be a historical flood associated with that civilization. Almost every major civilization we know of has been ravished by a flood, and they always see it as symbolic in some sort of lore. This is my last blog post for the semester and my last post for this class ever. I have taken this class twice now, so I am sort of attached to this class in a weird way since it has been part of my daily routine for the last year, practically.
